VielfaltMenü takes over catering for 13 public facilities

From the summer, children and young people in daycare centers and schools in Osterholz-Scharmbeck can look forward to a balanced lunch. VielfaltMenü, one of the leading caterers for nurseries and schools, is taking over the supply of 13 public facilities. From August 2023, meals will be cooked fresh daily in the kitchen in the media building on campus and delivered to daycare centers, elementary school and the integrated comprehensive school in the district town.

VielfaltMenü impressed with its balanced, child-friendly menus, which also include at least one vegetarian dish every day. Emphasis is also placed on organic and regional products. The company follows the criteria of the German Nutrition Society (DGE) and also offers a menu line certified by the DGE.

"Healthy eating and good taste are very important to us when catering for children and young people. That's why we cook fresh and varied meals every day. Our daycare and school meals should help children feel good and develop a taste for healthy eating," says Chris Winkelseßer, Managing Director for the Lower Saxony region at VielfaltMenü.

The varied lunchtime catering in the media building on campus and in the integrated comprehensive school is supplemented by an innovative and flexible kiosk concept, which includes a colorful selection of sandwiches, fruit, drinks and other hot to go offerings - naturally as a reusable system.

In a press release from the town of Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Susanne Fedderwitz, head of the education department, confirmed that they are very much looking forward to working with ViefaltMenü and praised the new caterer's concept: "We were impressed by the VielfaltMenü catering concept. It is a challenge to offer children and young people in different age groups a balanced lunch that they also enjoy eating. VielfaltMenü has already proven at other locations and municipalities that this can be achieved with experience and expertise."

VielfaltMenü describes its daily work with the phrase "So much more than good food". With various nutrition projects, such as the cooking course "cook@school - The cooking classroom", the caterer also shows children the impact that nutrition has on the environment and their own health. The cooking course was recently awarded the gold industry prize for community catering.
